The Gospel – part 2 of 3

“I want you to live right where I live. not just the penalty. not just the problem. but an invitation into His very near presence. and I want to adopt you as My child.”
we are brought in and invited near to follow His heart, you come into His presence totally broken.
“i don’t deserve this, why do You do such thing for me?”

but Jesus said, “I love you, and I have a commission for you.”

“for You? You want me to work for You?”

“I want to use you. I need you to go back there to the prison cell where I took you out from. because there’s still a bunch more that need to know about Me. My love, My truth. but I need to warn you. you will go out and you’ll be the sheep among wolves. they’ll kill you. they’ll destroy you. they’ll hate you. they’ll persecute you. they’ll do anything to harm you.”

“i’m in God, i don’t care how bad it could be. You shed Your blood for me, and now i am more than ready to do the same. use my blood any way you want, God. take me. send me. the commission, not just the penalty, not just the problem, not just the invitation to the very near presence, not just the adoption as His child, but we are commissioned to represent Him. and it is a privilege beyond all other privileges. to bear the very name, the very image, the very reputation of God Almighty.”

“go, go and make disciples of all men. go and be unashamed of My gospel and preach it. go, rescue the lost in the power of My name for is not the Lamb that was slain worthy to receive the reward of His suffering?”

“I’ll go.”

“hold it, there’s one more thing. not just the penalty, not just the problem, not just the invitation to the very near presence, not just the adoption as His child, and not just the commission. this is the capstone. if you think all of it is all good, you can wrap all that up and it will still fall short of the final thing. because this final one is so condescending. so bewildering. so extraordinary. so amazing. and this is the truth that turns the world upside down. before you go, what i’m sending you out to do is impossible.”

“i know.”
